Steven Light has been true to his name -- by putting 15,000 Christmas lights round his parents' house in North Stoke, near Wallingford.
When the lights come on, lorry driver Mr Light also plays Santa.
The spectacle has been a village landmark for the past 12 years, and is raising money this year for Cerebra, a charity that helps brain-injured children. He has been visited by more than 1,000 children and adults in his back garden grotto.
Mr Light said the displays were designed originally for his own children, Michael, Amy and Grant, who are now 13, 10, and eight.
Mr Light, 34, who has been off work for two years with a shoulder injury, said that 1,161 people had been round by the end of last week, donating £900.
He said: "This year, it has gone down an absolute storm. People like the personal touch."
