Cherry Red Records Hellenic League: Champions North Leigh ground out another victory to stay five points clear at the top of the Premier Division going into the New Year.
Harry Burnley gave them the best possible start against Pewsey Vale on Saturday, heading in Nick Forrester's right-wing cross in only the second minute.
But the home side had to wait until midway through the second half to make the game safe.
Big defender Mark Lewis stole upfield and rose to head Darren Maisey's deep cross past Pewsey keeper Paul Clark.
When Pewsey did threaten they found the North Leigh defence in resolute mood, and it was no surprise when Matty Ellis curled North Leigh's third goal just inside the far post in the dying moments.
