Standlake Arena host their premier banger meeting of the year, the 'Heavy Metal Classic' on Sunday (January 5), with £2,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Over the last four years this fixture has emerged as the biggest banger meeting in the country.
It attracts record entries, with more than 190 racers already booked in for the 2003 event.
Organiser Keith Hook said: "There is always a very varied selection of cars being raced, a 1953 Austin Metropolitan is the oldest car booked in, with a Humber Hawk hearse and a number of American cars being the biggest.
"The meeting sees two classes of bangers racing, under 1800cc and over 1800cc with 20 action-packed races. There are no non-contact classes racing, so the crashes and smashes are continuous."
First race of the day is at noon and early arrival for the best parking and viewing is recommended. Anyone requiring further information should contact Hook on 01993 200964 or visit the track website at www.standlakearena.co.uk for latest driver and car lists.
