Gillingham Res 0, Oxford Utd Res 0: Coach Darren Patterson was happy with the performance as a young United side battled to a 0-0 draw against Gillingham Res in yesterday's Avon Insurance Combination game.
Manny Omoyinmi came the closest to breaking the deadlock, hitting a post on 20 minutes after good work by Chris Hackett.
Substitute Matt Brandish had two chances late on, but at the other end, it took two good saves from Ian McCaldon to earn his side a point.
"It was a good display and I'm pleased with the lads," Patterson said.
"They played very well against a decent Gillingham team and I can't fault them.
"We had a lot of youngsters in the side again and they have worked hard as a team and deserved at least a point."
Oxford Utd Res: McCaldon, Ricketts, MacKay, Oldfield, Garner, King, Hackett, Ciampoli, Omoyinmi, O'Sullivan (Brandish 65), Carbon. Sub not used: Cox.
