The Bengali New Year was celebrated in Oxford with a festival of food, dancing and music.
The Oxfordshire Bangladeshi Association staged the event at the Asian Cultural Centre, Manzil Way, east Oxford, to say Nobo Brasha -- Happy New Year.
Children took part in a competition to talk about the Bengali New Year.
Tasmia Akkas, 12, won the first prize of £20 gift tokens.
She said: "It made me feel proud to be a Bangladeshi."
The children then danced and listened to speeches and live music.
Bangladesh Deputy High Commisioner Mohammed Hasib Aziz was among the guests.
