Teachers and pupils in schools in and around Wantage are to be given a helping hand in making the most of computer technology.
Andrew Markham, 29, has become the e-learning specialist for the Wantage Area Secondary and Primary Schools.
Mr Markham is based at King Alfred's Community and Sports College, but will spend most of his time helping teachers develop information and communications technology in the area's primary schools.
He is a former teacher and ICT co-ordinator at Manor Primary School in Didcot.
Mr Markham said schools could take advantage of high speed broadband internet access.
He said: "In my experience children in primary schools are usually very enthusiastic and highly motivated in wanting to use computers. Rather than harnessing their interest, it's more a case of helping them to focus."
