For the first time in nearly 15 years, Didcot does not have a May Queen.

Previously drawn from the town's Brownies, the May Queen and her attendants from the Rainbow groups were chosen at the annual May Fair. This year it was dropped so the event could involve more girls. Pictured above at Monday's fair are Jessica Goodenough, eight, and seven-year-old Shauni Nugent.
Divisional Commissioner Hazel Marriott said: "The mayor judged a fancy dress competition in which Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and the seniors all took part."
The event raised nearly £1,400 for the Guides movement.
