A pub landlord and his wife bravely fought off two robbers armed with a gun.
Martin Kotecki, manager of the Great Western Pub and Restaurant in Didcot, suffered a head injury when he was hit with the gun.
His wife Yvonne, the assistant manager, was injured in the arm when she wrestled with a second attacker who was armed with a knife.
The couple were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, after the attempted robbery, which happened at about 1am on May 6.
The two men fled empty-handed.
Dc Paul Kingsley, of Didcot CID, said the robbery had been a "very frightening attack using a level of violence we certainly don't see very often".
A canister of CS gas was discharged during the struggle.
Police hope it may help them track the raiders.
