A man who smashed windows at a police station and a court has been jailed for 21 days.
Gokhan Balande, 25, pleaded guilty through an interpreter at Bicester Magistrates Court to two charges of criminal damage and a further charge of attempted criminal damage.
He smashed a window at Oxford Magistrates' Court on April 5, then two days later was caught trying to break a window on a building belonging to Thames Valley Police.
In the third incident, Balande, of The Bridge, Iffley Road, Oxford, smashed a window on the front door of St Aldates police station.
Clare Tucker, prosecuting, said Balande, an asylum seeker from Turkey, had told police when he committed the third incident he had been under the influence of alcohol.
She said: "He had thrown a stone at the door because he was bored and wanted somewhere to stay for the night."
Kate Macnab, defending, said Balande, who came from Turkey in 1999, had been depressed because he was homeless and unemployed.
She said: "He was entitled to stay in the UK, but things have become so depressing for him here that he would like to return to Turkey." Magistrates' chairman Gillian Kay said the offences were so serious only a custodial sentence was appropriate.
Balande was sentenced to seven days in prison for the first offence, 14 days for the second and 21 days for the third, all to run concurrently.
