Fundraisers who abseiled 80ft down the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford last weekend expect to have raised more than £2,400 for the Oxford Children's Hospital appeal.

More than 20 of those taking part in Sunday's sponsored event were fundraising for the £15m appeal to build a dedicated children's hospital at the JR site on December 2005.
Other abseilers raised £1,900 for the Oxford Transplant Centre, at the Churchill Hospital, and for the mental healthcare Coasters Funds.
