Gardeners in Wallingford are being invited to help make the town a friendlier place for wildlife.
The Wallingford Environment Group is organising a competition to find a wildlife-friendly gardener.
Chairman Emma Broad said: "Every town and village has a best-kept garden competition but a pristine and tidy garden is not necessarily the most friendly to wildlife.
"We're looking for a garden where the gardener is actively attracting wildlife to the garden with special planting."
She added: "We're looking for gardens that are visited by hedgehogs, ladybirds and song thrushes and flowers are grown to attract butterflies.
"We hope to show it's possible to have a colourful, attractive garden that's still an oasis for wildlife."
The competition judges are wildlife gardener Jenny Steel, Helen d'Ayala from BBOWT and environment group member Jo Gamester.
