I have just returned from a meeting of the Cowley area committee.
Month after month, we have highlighted various problems regarding traffic and roads. We are informed month after month that the highways committee and officers of the county council will not respond to any issues passed to them from the area committee regarding highways.
Is it the policy of the county to ignore these area committees hoping everyone will go away. Even the county council members on the area group are ignored by their own highways committee.
If these area committees are to be a success, surely it requires the city and county councils to work together to answer these concerns, otherwise there will be no confidence in the process and the public will stop attending these meetings due to lack of any action.
Or is this the plan?
