Every organisation dealing with finance, that I am aware of, has to work within the limits of inflation, otherwise sooner rather than later they would cease to exist.
Councils are apparently able to buck this rule because they are a not restricted to work within normal rules of economics, and are not answerable to council tax payers in the true sense. This appears to be legalised blackmail.
We are forced by law to pay whatever they demand.
Accepting that my income as a senior citizen is tied to general inflation, my standard of living goes down if my forced expenses is above this level. There is no law that allows our group to demand an income that keeps our income inflation proof.
Despite frequent requests, no-one has yet shown why this organisation cannot work within inflation like the rest of society.
An in-depth audit of accounts, with justification, for the past ten years would make interesting reading.
Perhaps someone can enlighten me. I wish my income during the last ten years had almost doubled.
