A primary school which was badly damaged by floodwater earlier in the year has re-opened the affected areas after extensive repair work.
Staff with the damaged floorboards
New Hinksey First School, Vicarage Road, Oxford, was forced to close for three days when the school hall, computer room and nursery all flooded in January.
Parquet flooring in the hall had to be removed by volunteers and insurance company-employed builders.
The floorboards had warped while submerged in floodwater. Carpet in the nursery and IT rooms was also ruined.
Since January, pupils and staff have had to hold lessons and assemblies elsewhere.
Indoor PE lessons were held at the Lake Street Community Centre while the hall was repaired. Assemblies were held at St John the Evangelist Church, the IT room was closed and the nursery was forced to move to a cramped classroom.
But the affected areas have now been reopened.
Headteacher Charlotte Haynes said they were looking better than ever.
She said: "All the areas have been redone. They look fantastic now.
"Everyone has pulled together to cope while they've been closed and the children have coped very well. We're just happy to be back to the normal routine."
The school will convert from a first school to a full primary school in September, with the addition of about 20 pupils.
A new nursery building will open at the school in February.
