Didcot's twinning association is launching a £2,000 appeal to help fund 2004's fifth anniversary visit from twin town Meylan, in France.
The annual meeting of the association will be at Didcot Civic Hall on June 5, when arrangements for next year's visit will be discussed, along with changes to the constitution of the association.
Association chairman Dr Sue Totterdell said: "Ideally we're looking for a corporate sponsor, although we're organising sales, a wine tasting and other events also aimed at increasing our mem- bership."
In November, the Didcot association is due to host a youth sports event and Dr Totterdell said they were hoping local clubs could help field rugby and football teams to play the French.
Prospective members will be welcome at the annual meeting, which will feature a display of photographs from a visit in March by the Didcot group to Meylan, which is near Grenoble. For details, call 01235 850080.
Dr Totterdell said: "Members may become involved at any level -- they don't have to go to Meylan and are not obliged to be a host family."
The association is holding a plant and cake sale on May 24, at Didcot Youth Centre, in Park Road, from 10am.
