A drink driver who crashed into three cars as he was chased through Oxford by six policemen on bicycles has been jailed.
James Watts, 37, got drunk after splitting up with his girlfriend. He refused to stop after officers spotted him driving without his seatbelt, Oxford Crown Court heard yesterday.
Watts, of Church Road, Sandford-on-Thames, was three times over the legal drink drive limit and narrowly missed one police officer as he was followed through seven east Oxford streets at 6.35pm on April 5.
He was arrested after a pursuit by officers from the East Oxford Proactive Team.
At a previous hearing at Oxford Magistrates Court, Watts admitted drink driving, dangerous driving, having no insurance, failing to stop and driving without a licence.
Judge Julian Hall told Watts: "When you were told to pull over by police officers you didn't, you drove off and kept colliding with things because you were three times over the limit."
Watts was sentenced to four months in prison for dangerous driving, two months for drink driving, to run concurrently, and disqualified from holding a driving licence for three years.
