Hundreds of revellers and intrepid boaters turned out to watch Abingdon's annual Dragon Boat races.
Rowers competed in fancy dress
About 30 teams of 25 paddlers took to the River Thames at Wilsham Road on May 11 -- many of them in fancy dress -- in order to race 250 metres to the finish.
The event was organised by the Abingdon Vesper Rotary Club for their nominated charity, the Maureen Ferguson Stroke Appeal, and other charities.
The Rotarians hope to raise more than £50,000 to fund a new position in the Stroke Association to help stroke victims of working age.
Mrs Ferguson was a former president of the Abingdon Vesper Club, who died at the age of 57 after a series of strokes.
