The first steps in raising £200,000 to turn the Old Free Library in Wallingford into a combined church and community hall have been taken.

Hard hats were the order of the day when residents visited an exhibition of the plans and took a look inside the building. The event on Saturday raised £700 towards the target.
The St Leonard's Square building was sold by the town council to the adjacent Methodist Church for more than £250,000.
The building will provide extra space for church activities and for the community hall.
