Burglars posing as officials have struck in Bicester.
An elderly woman was burgled in Buckingham Road, on Saturday (May 10) at about 2.30pm.
Two men, wearing boiler suits with badges, claimed there was a problem with the water supply and they needed to get into the house.
While the woman's attention was distracted, one of the men rifled her handbag and wardrobe and stole cash saved from her pension.
Dc Ian Hunter said a significant amount of money was stolen, and urged people to be on their guard.
He added: "They were only there for a few minutes, but it was long enough."
The bogus callers were both white. One was about 30 and the other was in his 20s.
