A teenager has been told he may face custody after police found a stun gun in his bedroom.
The 17-year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, lives in the Ruscote area of Banbury.
He appeared at the town's youth court yesterday (May 14), when he admitted possessing a firearm without a certificate.
Police found the stun gun during a search of the house on April 21, after arresting the youth and his father on an unrelated matter.
The youth told the officers he had bought it in Bretch Hill for £30.
But Surminder Singh, defending, said the father had bought the gun in France as a novelty.
The magistrates called for pre-sentence reports, saying they were leaving all options open. They said: "We're not ruling out custody."
The youth will appear before Bicester Youth Court on June 4.
