Around 250 boys and girls will be participating in the Chairman's Cup Oxfordshire Under 11's Tag Rugby Tournament at Oxford Brookes University's Harcourt Hill Campus, North Hinksey, next Wednesday (1pm).
The Chairman's Cup, is named after the former chairman of Oxfordshire County Council Brian Hook, whose aim was to develop a project that would encourage sport in schools.
As a result this increasingly popular mixed tag rugby tournament is now entering its fifth year. The competition has gone from strength to strength with more than 40 primary schools in Oxfordshire now competing. David Turner, the chairman of the Oxfordshire County Council present the winner's trophies. Also present will be Ian Kempson, the Oxfordshire RFU president and Lynn Evans, the county's youth devlopment officer.
