A record 2,600 runners are gearing up for the Town and Gown Fun Run in Oxford.
They have spent the last few months getting in shape for the 10km race on Sunday through Oxford's historic centre and the University Parks. The run is sponsored by the Oxford Mail.
Experienced runners will rub shoulders with fun runners, many in fancy dress, to raise more than £20,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
Organisers from the charity are expecting this year's Town and Gown to be the biggest in its 22-year history.
Last year, more than 2,100 people took part in the race, with 68 young people taking part in the 2.9km junior race.
More than £450,000 has been raised for the charity over the years through sponsorship and entry fees.
Personal trainer Barry Grinham, who is based at Kidlington and Gosford Sports Centre, in Kidlington, has helped to raise about £10,000 for the charity by organising teams of runners.
The junior race, for 11- to 14-year-olds, starts at 10am in the University Parks, followed by the main race at 10.30am.
