One of Oxford United's big sponsors, Guy Salmon, has stepped in to reward competition winner John Hawkins after he just missed out on winning a brand new Jaguar.
John, 18, from Wood Farm, narrowly missed out on winning the £25,000 car when his final attempt to hit the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area at half-time during the last home game missed by inches.
Cumnor-based Guy Salmon, who had provided the Jaguar as a prize, came up with a consolation reward of two executive hospitality packages for England's forthcoming European Championship qualifier against Slovakia at Middlesbrough.
John said: "It's a great prize and I'm really looking forward to it. Just to be on the pitch and have all the crowd cheering me on was amazing, and to get the England tickets was a great surprise, and almost made up for not winning the car."
