A man known to hundreds of former engineering students in the Witney area has died at the age of 80.
Reginald Hall was a lecturer for 30 years at the town's West Oxfordshire Technical College, which is now part of Abingdon and Witney College.
He was a workshop lecturer, specialising in machining and welding, and he supervised the Engineering Modelmakers course.
Former colleague Nick Brown said: "He was very popular with other staff and the students. When he retired, he kept his hand in with bicycle repairs."
Mr Hall was part of a department which trained students who went on to join many local engineering companies, including Smiths Industries factories in west Witney.
The Witney campus still has a thriving engineering department for both mechanical and electrical engineering.
Mr Hall, who lived in Burwell Drive, Witney, served with the RAF during the war, spending part of his service in India.
He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Madeline and son Anthony.
The funeral took place at Witney's Tower Hill cemetery.
