Flowers were cast into the River Thames in Oxford as part of a traditional West Papuan ceremony to honour the dead.

The West Papuan flag, The Morning Star, flew at The Perch pub in Binsey on May 17 as campaigners held a party to highlight the plight of West Papuans. Food was served and a band performed.
Activist John Rumbiak is pictured dropping flowers into the Thames.
The Oxford Papuan Rights Campaign, led by Richard Samuelson, of Marston, organised the event to raise awareness about torture and human rights abuses the activists allege have been carried out under 30 years of Indonesian rule.
