Love, lust and getting lucky in New York City is explored at the Burton Taylor Theatre in The Hepburn Fallacy.
A die-hard romantic falls for Mr Right on his way out the door, while her supportive gay best friend concentrates on the more important things in life - like shopping, shoes and Chinese take-away.
Ellie Cumbo plays Alex, the last true
disciple of the Audrey Hepburn myth of fantasy gratification, with Ben Isaacs as Gustav - the half-Swedish would-be man of her dreams. Graham, her quick-witted gay flatmate, is played by Greg Schivle.
The Hepburn Fallacy, by The Flying Carob Tree Productions, runs from next Tuesday to Saturday, at 9.30pm. Box office 01865 305305.
In the earlier evening slot at the student theatre venue next week, newly-formed Collapsible Theatre Company perform Abi Morgan's Splendour.
The play is set in a mansion on the edge of a European city. Four women - the wife of a dictator, her friend, a photographer and their interpreter - await the nation's leader. While a revolution builds outside, the women's stories slowly unravel.
Performances are Tuesday-Saturday at 7.30pm. Box office 01865 305305.
