A skateboarding event in Oxford will teach young people to skateboard or develop their skills.
A £2,500 mobile skate ramp will be constructed at a two-day training camp at Meadow Lane Skate Park in east Oxford. The ramp was bought with money donated by Oxford Co-op to the Cowley Road Carnival Committee.
It will be set up at the carnival as part of a new feature for young people involving skateboarding, DJ decks, and workshops on skateboard graffiti art.
The skateboard training will be provided by medal-winning skateboarder Sean Goff, from Kidlington.
The event is being organised by the Cowley Road Carnival Committee in parternship with the Oxford Wheels Project.
Carnival co-ordinator Henrietta Gill said: "We were aware that there wasn't much on offer for people in the 12 to 16 age group at the carnival last year. We felt that targeting young people would be money well spent. The mobile skate ramp will provide a lasting legacy of the carnival."
The sessions will take place on May 25 and 26, with training between 10am and 2pm and ramp building between 2pm and 5pm.
Cowley Road Carnival takes place on June 15.
