Home Counties League Division 1
Banbury recorded their first win of the season as skipper Craig Haupt hit a magnificent century to ensure victory away to Basingstoke and North Hants.
Haupt hit 105 not out as Banbury raced to a seven-wicket triumph.
Paul Taylor struck an early blow for the visitors before Andy Giles and his captain Ross Hunter shared a second-wicket partnership of 105. The former was dismissed off the last ball before lunch.
In the afternoon session, good bowling by spinners Jimmy Phillips and Paul Hill brought them six wickets - four to Phillips for the second week running - and enabled the team to bowl their overs in three and a half hours.
Chasing Basingstoke's 181-8, Banbury lost Chris Smith in the second over, but Ian Tew and Haupt gradually got on top in a partnership of 44 in ten overs.
Haupt was then joined by Richard Kaufman and the pair dominated the bowlers, scoring 110 in 26 overs before Kaufman chopped the ball onto his stumps just after completing his 50, scored off 88 balls with ten fours.
Haupt then completed his ton - his second against Basingstoke - from 124 balls with two sixes and 17 fours.
Banbury had almost 14 overs to spare, and just 20 minutes after the finish, the rain arrived, making them grateful for their good over-rate earlier.
