A student was left bruised and grazed after he was knocked to the floor by robbers who wielded a hockey stick.
The thieves made off with the 21-year-old's bag, which contained books and his wallet, at the corner of Chester Street and Argyle Street, east Oxford, at 6am on May 28.
The men threatened the victim, as one of them waved the stick around, saying: "Give me your bag."
One of them grabbed the bag from the student's shoulder, and ran into a silver vehicle.
Police are now hunting the three Asian men who carried out the robbery.
Dc Emma Garside, of Oxford CID, said: "It was a frightening attack which left the victim with superficial injuries, but he was very shaken and upset."
