About 50 cyclists embarked on a gruelling 100-mile ride to raise thousands of pounds for a range of good causes.
Some of the cyclists prepare to set off
Forty-eight riders set off on the two-day event from Wallingford Castle on May 24, on a mainly off-road route which took them along ancient hill forts and monuments.
They ended up at Old Sarum, near Salisbury, on May 25, where they were greeted with well-earned burgers and beer.
Ancient landmarks passed en-route included Uffington Castle, Barbury Castle, Avebury Stone Circle, Knapp Hill and Stonehenge.
It was the first time the fundraising ride, organised by Wallingford Round Table, had been staged. But it is already hoped The Ancient Hill Fort Challenge will become an annual event.
One of the organisers, Barry Tindall, said: "It was an excellent event. We had a good time and there was great camaraderie."
Mr Tindall said about £5,000 was raised. The main recipient was the special care baby unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, although other charities will also benefit.
