Anyone who lives near the A34 north of Oxford or has driven along it will know how noisy it is.
For those inside a vehicle, the vibration is so intense that it is impossible to talk or hear the radio.
For the hundreds of families living in earshot of the dual carriageway, the noise most of the time is unbearable.

Our Government says resurfacing work is a priority, but it can give no date, other than that it will be between 2005 and 2010.
No wonder the protesters feel let down.
