There is no-one quite like the Nolan sisters for keeping it in the family - as the
opening of Blood Brothers at the Oxford Apollo proved on May 27.
As she stepped on to the stage as Mrs Johnstone, singer Denise Nolan became the third Nolan sister to have taken on the role.
Sisters Linda and Bernie have both starred in the West End version of Willy Russell's classic play, which has been running in London for 13 years.
Set in Liverpool, it follows the tale of impoverished Mrs Johnstone and her twin sons Mickey and Eddie. The boys are separated at birth because she cannot afford to keep them both, but are drawn together later in life.
Denise stars alongside Christopher Warburton, as Mickey, and Daniel Fine, as Eddie.
The show is at the Apollo, in George Street, Oxford, until May 31. Performances are at 7.30pm, with a matinee at 2.30pm on May 31.
