A swimming pool in Abingdon has been closed after about 50 people complained of grazing their feet on its surface.
The main pool and children's area at Abbey Meadow swimming pool will remain closed until an investigation has discovered the cause of the problem.
A diver will explore the bottom of the pool next week.
The assistant director of leisure at the Vale of White Horse District Council, Nick Garnett, said: "There's been no serious injuries, but we've had about 50 people complaining of grazed feet and toes.
"As a precautionary measure we decided to close the pool until the problem's been sorted out."
He said the surface of the bottom of outdoor pools was usually rough and caused no problem.
But he added that over a period of time the surface can get rougher.
He said: "The safety of users is paramount so that's why we decided to close the pools. They're very popular in the summer and will be open as soon as we're satisfied they're safe to use."
