Radiohead fans took advantage of Oxford's HMV's special midnight opening on June 8 to get their hands on the first copies of the band's latest album.
Music-lovers fought their way past roadworks to reach the Cornmarket Street store and were among the first people in the country to get the Oxfordshire band's new album, Hail to the Thief.
The store opened for 30 minutes and sales staff were kept busy with high demand for the CD.
Store manager Lawrence Price said: "It did go extremely well and demand was extremely high.
"It's probably one of the most exciting albums we have handled."
The album looks set to be another top-seller for the globally-popular group, after it received critical acclaim in the music press.
