Yobs who throw stones at vehicles do so because they know they can get away with it (Oxford Mail, May 14).
They were clearly influenced by a TV police documentary last year, when the police caught a gang throwing stones off a motorway bridge.
When they started crying and gave a sob story of a deprived childhood, the police let them go.
Why do we wonder that the youth crime rate is so high when the police are no deterrent to anyone other than law-abiding road users?
It costs more than £1,000 per hour to keep the police helicopter flying over your house, causing a disturbance for no apparent reason every other day.
Wise spending of council tax money? No, I don't think so. Maybe our MPs would care to comment.
