WOOD Green School is launching its 50th anniversary celebrations with a big band sound and an appeal.
It is hoping for a sell-out event at the town's Witney Lakes Resort on Friday, with a celebration dinner and dance.
Providing the music is the school's Big Band which has just returned from a four-day tour to Witney's twin town of Le Touquet in France.
It played at the annual flower festival, the town hall and even in the restaurant of a casino.
The dinner and dance will publicise and raise funds for the performing arts appeal to develop new facilities such as a recording studio for both school and community use.
Head of music Ian Gorman said: "This is an opportunity for our Big Band to show the residents of Witney and the surrounding towns and villages some of the musical talent at Wood Green School."
Tickets cost £25, which includes a three-course meal, and can be obtained from the school office.
