Cherwell League Division 1: Aston Rowant marched on at the top by maintaining their 100 per cent record with an 86-run victory away to nearest rivals Bourton Vale.

Having put their visitors in, Bourton were dismayed to see Rowant rattle up 247-9 with Nick O'Hara (53), Mick Mickle (44), Chris Eaton (39) and Winton Willacey (38) to the fore.

And it got worse for Bourton as they were then dismissed for 161 by leg spinner Chris Wakeling (5-35) and seamer Nick O'Hara (3-35).

Banbury Twenty took full advantage of inserting Challow & Childrey on a green track to post a six-wicket win.

Steve Hart (4-15) and Mark Rowell (4-46) did the damage as Challow's batsmen - with the exception of skipper Ashley Holznagel, who made a defiant 60 - showed a lack of application in being bowled out for 130.

Twenty then eased to 133-4.

Left-arm spinner Shaun Miller (4-20) and seamer Nick Goacher (4-28) set Shipton-under-Wychwood on the way to a crushing ten-wicket win at Kimble.

Having been shot out for 40 by Aston Rowant last week, Kimble this time crashed to 96 all out, having been 50-3.

Steve Bates (57no) and Andrew Hemming (34no) then guided Shipton home, and sent Kimble to the foot of the table.

Sandford St Martin are still seeking their first win after a late-order collapse saw them slip to a 17-run defeat at Oxford Downs.

Having been put in on a damp track, Downs got off to a good start with openers Ian Caunce (60) and Liam Hope (68) setting them on the way to 210-9, despite Ian Johnson taking 6-49.

In reply, Sandford made good progress with Dean Border, son of Australian Test legend Allan, hitting 45.

They needed 65 off the last ten overs with five wickets in hand, but Paul Hebbert (3-45) and Matt Lee (3-52) combined to send the visitors tumbling to 193 all out.

Buckingham moved into second spot with a four-wicket win at home to Dinton.

Despite an overnight deluge, the visitors chose to bat first on a soft pitch and were shot out for 136, with Don Harris (3-25) and Chris Dalkin (3-31) among the wickets.

Buckingham also found runs hard to come by, but a fighting 63 from Bryn Jones saw them home at 137-6.
