PARENTS in east Oxford were planning a road protest on June 11 to highlight the dangers their children could face when a split-site school opens in September.
Isis Middle School, in Meadow Lane, will merge with SS Mary and John Primary School, in Hertford Street, to form a 400-pupil primary school.
Parents and school governors want a pelican crossing to be installed in Iffley Road, between the two sites. Plans to stand in Iffley Road and halt traffic were dropped after police warned organisers that this the action would be illegal.
Instead, the protestors were to form a procession from Hertford Street to Meadow Lane, and cross Iffley Road in single file, carrying banners.
