Kevin Giles was the hero for The George B, Littlemore as his superb 16-doll haul saw them to a 2-1 win over Garsington Sports in their Greene King Oxford & District Aunt Sally League Premier Section clash.
Kevin GilesGiles, who also bagged a sixer, was well-supported by Dave Sawyer, who also clanged off a sixer in his 14-doll tally, while Trevor Greenaway did the same for Sports.
It was an anchorman's nightmare in the Section 2 clash between Green Road Club and Seacourt Bridge.
Each leg was won by the odd doll in the 18-19, 15-14, 19-20 scoreline, with the anchorman coming up one doll short on each leg. Seacourt set the deciding leg as they won 2-1.
Kings Arms' anchorman Alan Surman had no problems as he knocked off the four dolls needed in the first and third leg, to clinch a 2-1 win away at The Plough, Garsington.
A 12-doll haul from The Blackbird's Roger Goodall (4-4-4) was not enough, as they crashed to their first Section 5 defeat of the season, 2-1 to The Vikings.
The Nut Tree's Richard Cooper clanged off 14 dolls including a sixer, but it was all in vain as they lost out to Section 6 leaders Marston British Legion 2-1.
In Section 12, Somerset House and The Crown scored the same number of dolls and legs scores, with Somerset just having the edge in the 14-11, 11-9, 9-14 scoreline.
Persistence certainly paid off for The Corner House's Anna Wingfield-Digby, who after four weeks, 12 throws and 71 sticks, knocked off her first doll of the season in Section 13.
It was the only highlight for her team, as they lost 2-1 to The Jack Russell.
