A former victim of bullying in the workplace who became a world expert on the subject is to expand his consultancy business.
Tim Field is so busy dealing with inquiries about the problem that he has quit an office at his home in Campion Hall Drive, Didcot, to move into new premises at the Culham Innovation Centre, near Abingdon.
He has also taken on his first employee to help process a mounting case load.
Mr Field said bullying was a problem in some Oxfordshire companies, although businesses were looking to tackle the issue.
He warned bullying could lead to absenteeism, ill health and high staff turnover.
Mr Field has written books on the subject and runs the world's largest website on workplace bullying.
He said: "I receive inquiries and distressing cases from all over the world.
He said: "Bullying has got worse over the past 20 years as pressures grow on companies and their employees to perform.
"The serial bully is the worst offender. A lot of employers are frightened to take action for fear of legal consequences, and get rid of the victim only for the problem to surface later on."
An acknowledged writer and speaker on the subject, Mr Field has appeared on radio and television.
