The school's headteacher, Eileen Langley, is leaving at the end of the summer term. Mrs Langley is taking early retirement after nearly 12 years as headteacher. She first joined the school in 1980 for two years and returned in 1989 as deputy head.
She said: "I've enjoyed my time here immensely. It's a very good school, excellent staff and a very supportive community that has made my job easier.
"Headteachers have a tremendous work load these days but you know that when you go into the job."
Mrs Langley, who lives in Headington, said she had gained a great deal of satisfaction from her work helping to build up the school but now wants to develop other interests.
She added: "I want time to improve my golf as well as my interests in cooking, reading, going to the theatre and travelling."
The chairman of the board of school governors, Eddie Shirras, said: "Mrs Langley has done so much for the school over the years and will be greatly missed by everyone.
"We're making plans to mark her departure at an end of term leavers service in the church on July 18. We hope many people will join us."
