Sale of medals aids church project Medals commemorating the Queen's Golden Jubilee are on sale in Wallingford to help transform the town's Old Free Library into a church building.
Dee Cripps, of the Wallingford Business Partnership, is selling the medals -- the first to be struck by the Royal Mint exclusively for Wallingford since the 1911 Coronation of King George V -- for £17.50 each.
Ms Cripps said: "We had about 500 made and there are about 25 left."
Money raised will be used for the project to turn the building, in St Leonard's Square, into a building for community activities and services for the adjoining Methodist church.
The cost of the project has not yet been finalised, but the church bought the building for £250,000.
