The vicar of one of Oxfordshire's newest towns is stepping back in time on June 21, to conduct his first wedding at the medieval parish church in Brize Norton.
The Rev Roger Billings is used to conducting marriages at the modern church of St John -- built in 1965 -- in Burford Road, Carterton.
But under a reorganisation of parishes he has taken over as team rector of the neighbouring village of Brize Norton, where the church of St Britius dates back to the 12th century. He said: "It's not a big thing, but it is a first. The couple come from Carterton and are happy to be married there."
