Young performers from west Oxfordshire have been working in a recording studio to produce songs with an anti-drugs or anti-alcohol message.
They are taking part in a competition run by West Oxfordshire District Council called Buzzed.
They have recorded their tracks on to CDs which will be judged on Tuesday, June 24, by a panel of secondary school students from across the district.
District council cabinet member Louise Chapman came up with the idea for the contest.
"Each of the entries delivers a powerful message about the problems associated with drugs and alcohol," she said
"It's important that young people are involved in the judging process as we intend to distribute 2,000 copies of the CD to schools and youth groups throughout the district."
The CD will be launched on Wednesday, July 16, by Witney MP David Cameron.
The competition has also provided an opportunity for budding artists and designers to produce cover artwork for the release, along the same anti-drugs or anti-alcohol theme.
These have already been judged by the performers and the winning design appears on the cover of the CD.
