The Oxford Silver Machine attempt to succeed where others have failed this season when they visit the East of England Showground to take on Peterborough on Wednesday night.

The Elite League clash is being televised live on Sky Sports and, with Oxford on a losing streak, their prospect of becoming the first team to win at Peterborugh this season don't look good.

They have had a foretaste of what may happen after crashing to a 51-39 defeat at the hands of the Posh in April when Todd Wiltshire and Nicki Pedersen notched 23 of the 31 points.

Oxford's big two, Wiltshire and Pedersen need back-up, but with too many riders out of touch at the moment, it will a lot to ask.

Posh, on the other hand, have a wealth of talent, led by Ryan Sullivan and Pepe Protasiewicz, although their third GP rider, Hans Andersen, is currently injured. There is a question mark over the fitness of Gary Havelock.

Oxford bring in Steve Masters at reserve to partner Niels Kristian Iversen, who has made a good impression so far.

The Silver Machine can take some comfort in the fact that they beat the Posh 48-42 at Sandy Lane earlier this month.

Promoter Nigel Wagstaff, forever looking at ways to strengthen his team, may include a new Czech Republic rider for the British League cup tie against Swindon at Sandy Lane on Friday.

Peterborough (from): Sullivan, Bjerre, Havelock, Protasiewicz, Harris, Parker, Sadler, Rider-replacement.

Oxford: Wiltshire, McGowan, Boyce, Ulamek, Pedersen, Iversen, Masters.
