The Motel Kings sound like the kind of band that you might find gigging night after night in some forgotten honky tonk in the heart of Mississippi.
But this lively, feel-good guitar band hail not from steamy Jackson or Tupelo, but London.
They play energetic rhythm and blues, rock 'n' roll, boogie and swing, with a raw, vaguely punk-rock energy, and are coming to the Bullingdon on Cowley Road on June 30.
A break from the usual Monday Night Blues sets, it fits in nicely with organiser Philip Guy Davis' attempts to inject a shot of adrenaline into Mondays in Oxford.
If you feel like dancing, get yourself there by 9pm. If you don't, get there anyway, 'cos you will be jumping around with the best of them within minutes, anyway. Entry is £5.
