Oxfordshire's Tim Henman was today flying the flag for Britain in splendid isolation as the bookmakers piled further pressure on the Henman family.
Tim HenmanHenman's daughter, Rosie, has been quoted as a 250-1 shot to grow up to be a Wimbledon champion.
And although Henman stresses he would never pressure his daughter into tennis, the mere existence of the story indicates the fevered attention and expectation which accompanies Henman every year at Wimbledon.
On Saturday on Centre Court, he takes on Swedish qualifier Robin Soderling, who has already beaten French Open finalist Martin Verkerk, for a place in the fourth round.
And the 28-year-old is well aware that his path to a fifth Wimbledon semi-final is not too daunting, with clay-court specialists David Nalbandian and Juan Carlos Ferrero potential opponents in the last 16 and quarter-finals.
