A campaign to clear storm drains in south Oxford and prevent flooding was launched yesterday by Oxford City Council staff.

Over the next three weeks, eight workers will use roadsweepers to clean drains in 30 roads between Grandpont and New Hinksey.
Homes in the Abingdon Road and Botley Road areas suffered major flood damage at the beginning of the year.
Work began in Buckingham Street and Brook Street, off Western Road.
Letters have been sent to 1,800 homes, asking residents to move their cars on designated days. The work is expected to be finished by July 18.
