EDDIE Nix has been named the new manager of Old Woodstock Town.
Nix takes over as boss from Andy Townsend, who quit the Hellenic League Division 1 West outfit to join local rivals Witney United three weeks ago.
And Town wasted no time in snapping up Nix, who was sacked as Bicester Town boss a fortnight ago - although he has still not officially been told he has been relieved of his duties at the Oxford Road club.
Nix is fuming at the way he has been treated by his former club.
"After three years of working at Bicester, you would have thought they would have had the decency to actually tell me I was sacked," he said.
"I have been away in America for my wedding, and came back to find I have been sacked - although the chairman still hasn't told me to my face. Having said that, I had no hesitation in joining Old Woodstock Town, who are a properly-run club, and everything there is done officially.
"I had a two-and-a-half hour meeting with officials at the club, and then signed a contract with them. In three years at Bicester, I never even saw a bit of paper!"
Old Woodstock chairman, Ted Saxton, said: "We believe that Eddie's blend of experience, boundless enthusiasm and development skills with young footballers is exactly right for Woodstock." TAKING OVER: Nix
