Cultural projects in Oxford could benefit from a £125,000 investment plan.
Last month, the Government named Liverpool as European Capital of Culture for 2008. Oxford was one of five UK cities designated a Centre of Culture for the same year.
Projects from Oxford's original bid are still being developed and on July 7, city councillors will look at how the council can support initiatives to expand cultural life. Proposals to be considered include:
£50,000 of council funding for Oxford Inspires Ltd, the company established to develop the Capital of Culture bid.
£80,000 to regenerate the West End of the city centre, including a feasibility study on moving the railway station to Oxpens.
£25,000 to redevelop Oxford Town Hall.
